Hoping you can help with an issue. I have built a simple circuit to charge my cell phone from a battery pack (six 1.5V/ 2100 mAh NiMH AA batteries)
Here’s the layout-
battery pack + to diode to 5V regulator input to pin 1 of USB female port.
battery pack - to neg on regulator and to pin 4 (GND) of female USB.
I plug in my phone and it shows charging and then it loses battery value after a couple minutes (I have made sure the stripe of the diode is away from the battery)
I have confirmed 5 volts at the usb port and then it drops to 4.5V once I plug in my phone . Do I still need a USB charge module with this set up?
Any thoughts as to why it’s not charging would be greatly appreciated!
